Provisional Day by Day itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu.
You will be picked up from the International Airport and transferred to the Hotel Himalaya where you will check in If you arrive on a morning flight (or are already there), arrangements will be made for you to have lunch at the hotel, rest, then a visit to Swayambhu (Monkey Temple), with dinner at a nearby local restaurant.
Day 2: Visit to the Living Mountain Laboratory.
This is a three hour visit focussing on livestock (chickens, fish). Actual participatory work will depend on circumstances at the time of the visit.

Day 3: Fly to Pokhara and Bird Watching.
Fly to Pokhara PM Bird watching and visit to the Annapurna Conservation Area office in Pokhara for a lecture on Participatory Conservation. This is a one hour presentation.
Day 4: Bird watching in the Pokhara Valley.
Bird watching drive to Ghachok with a visit to the ‘Vulture Restaurant’. Presentation on this safe feeding site for vultures from Diclofenac – one hour.
Evening presentation by Dr Paras Singh on the Snow Leopard project run by BIOCOS – one hour.
Days 5 & 6: Hike to Hile (8000ft)
With option to stay and do anti poaching programme for Day 6 and Day 7. These are 2 eight hour participatory days, including if a bird or animal is found caught in a trap, they will be given a thorough clinical examination to detect injury.
Day 7: Pokhara (1200m)
Evening return to Pokhara.
Day 8: Travel to Chitwan
Biodiversity Centre lecture – one hour.
Visit to the Elephant Centre. An opportunity to discuss the care of the elephants – one hour
Day 9: Canoe safari
A canoe trip on the Rapti River, and safari into the Chitwan National Park and Community Forest. Vist to the fish eating Gharial Breeding Centre – one hour presentation
Day 10: Workshop.
Meet Nepali vets for day workshop in the wildlife hospital – six hours
Day 11: Kathmandu.
Travel back to Katmandu for farewell dinner
Day 12: Fly home.

- Tips for guides and porters (kitty contribution £30-50 per person will cover all tips)
WPA Booking Policy (as facilitators).
- A deposit of 20% is required when the booking is made. The balance is required no later than one calendar month before travel.
- Booking Policy of NMTT (for tour extension beyond the WPA itinerary)
- Written confirmation of booking at least 90 days before arrival, a deposit of 10% will be required.
- Written confirmation of booking at least 60 days before arrival, a deposit of 40% will be required.
- Written confirmation of booking at least 30 days before arrival, a deposit of 70% will be required.
- The balance of the payment must be made no less than 15 days prior to arrival.

- 7 days and less 100% retention
- 8 days to 20 days 60% retention
- 21 days to 30 days 40% retention
- 31 days to 60 days 10% retention
