WHAT IS IT?

WPA’s Golden Pheasant Club is open to any of you members of WPA who have notified WPA that you have left money to WPA in your will. As simple as that. No subscription. Free.

WHY SHOULD YOU JOIN IT?

Obviously, to help the vitally important work of the charity and help ensure its long-term future, at absolutely no cost to yourself. And to feel good about it. And to enjoy the splendid (free) lunch events at unusual unique locations that are organised for the Club members every 2 or 3 years. (And possibly even as an unusual form of life insurance, in that the mortality rate among Golden Pheasant Club members has been low over the 15 years that it has been going).

WHAT ARE THE DRAWBACKS?

Can you think of any? Remembering to do it when you next change or make your will, or leave a message for your executors?

MISCELLANEOUS POINTS

You don’t have to promise to give all, nor even most, of your estate to WPA --- we would not want anyone to deprive their family of much of their inheritance; but to share a bit of it?

All legacies made to UK charities are tax-free, so are deducted from the value of an estate before Inheritance Tax is applied.

Previous events have included Fishmongers Hall, Blenheim Palace, Fawley Hill Steam Railway, and Sculpture by the Lakes.
